I am a member of a union that is trying to form... we have been trying for almost a year. I have heard rumors that at the one year mark we can file some paperwork to or a petition to drop the union we are working with now. Also what would the transition period be like, from one union to another... I have been advised that it could be potentially bad for us during this period of transition. Any help on the matter would be appreciated..

[color=blue]Hi eassecurity,
Your frustration is understandable, however, you may be playing right into the hands of your employer in diverting strength and focus away from the bargaining table and towards a new organizing effort. How would your Employer take your current Union Representatives seriously when they would be aware the Union Representatives don't have the confidence of the Union Members?
I vote for you and your coworkers to approach your current union in regards to your concerns and ask what you can do to assist in the expediting the negotiating progress and decent, first contract.
