| One of the biggest and best (and cheapest) union education conferences is the biennial Labor Notes Conference, May 5-7 2006 in Dearborn, Michigan (outside Detroit). At least 800 workers will attend, maybe 1000, from all different unions. Workshops include Assertive Grievance Handling, Fighting Concessions, Dealing with Defeats, Immigrant Worker Leadership Development, Dealing with the Media, and about 45 more. FOr more information go to www.labornotes.org. Cost is $120, including banquet, inspiring speakers in the main sessions, and much more. |
