Does the Union BA be required to reinstate a lapsed Honarable Withdrawl Card with the only requirement to pay the original initiation fee? Would you have to go before the E-Board? What are the procedures? Thanks

Hi,
Below is the answer I had provided to your email inquiry regarding the same issue:
This is the first I've heard of a fee to be paid yearly by a member who has an honorable withdrawal card. However, each union will have varying standards and rules.
Many of your inquires would be best addressed by an official within your union, either by a staff member of your local or possibly by an international staff member. They should be able to confirm with you the answers to your question. However, as you've stated according to the by-laws of your union, honorably withdrawn members who have not paid the $100 yearly in-active member fee must pay the initiation fee again should they desire to become a member again. I would see absolutely no motivation for the union to deny your request for membership and no need for you to be subject to any meetings where you would need to appear before ay panels. I presume the process would be as low key as standing in line to pay your renewal fee at the DMV. I hope I have been able to provide you with reassurance and more comfort with the process.
