Can a company get rid of a Union?

I am in college and doing a paper and need to get an answer on this. I just want to know if the company can get rid of the Union, even if they have to let people go.

Hi Schooler,

While some companies may desire to 'break' the employee's unions, it is wholly the decison of the employees themselves as to whether or not they choose to have the benefits of collective bargaining.

I work for a company in Michigan in the airline buisness that walked in one morning and told everybody that you no longer have a union we are going to fall under the railroad act
