Ive recently been honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard where I was involved in some basic electicians duties and Im interested to know if the IBEW has any kind of apprentice program. Im also waiting at the moment to find a school that offers training in the electrician field.

thanks in advance.

[color=blue:4a2ae2fb7c]Hi Ejacob,

The IBEW does have some locals within the State of Connecticut; http://www.ibew.org/IBEW/directory/SearchDirectory/States.asp?State=CT&District=2

Additionally, you may be interested in a site called, "Helmets to Hard Hats" (http://helmetstohardhats.org) which may assist you in your transition.

I believe the IBEW does offer some training for its members, however, you may also be interested in considering the International Union of Operating Engineers (www.IUOE.org) which also provides training to members.

Fraternally,

Dustin
