| I am currently on an honorable withdrawal. I wish to work for a non union shop. This shop does industrial refrigeration, which my local union does not provide training for or even have any shops signatory in this field. Therefore, am I within my right to work for this shop? [/b] |

Hi Busydad690,
Sure, you may apply for work with any company, union or not, in the same field of work performed by the members of the union which you have an honorable withdrawl card from or not. There are no restrictions in regards to where you may choose to apply for work or the type of work which you may apply for.
If you see that the Employees of the new company you choose to work for may benefit from joining your union, I hope you'll discuss it with them and contact the union. You may also choose a union other than the one of which you have an honorable withdrawl card.
Fraternally,
Dustin

| Hi Dustin, thanks again for the reply. I just have one more question for you. Does this apply to UA for plumbers and pipefitters unions? |

Hi Busydad690,
Yes, it should. You may wish to contact your UA local union office and/or your International UA office, www.UA.org, to confirm this.

Dustin
