If unemployment is taken away, those who are in need (in between jobs) we have been there could lose their home, what the hell is wrong with the Republicans? Like this Country needs more foreclosures and poor people :(

Thus far, Hyatt has refused to hire the HSS workers directly and that means 20 workers, some who have been on the job for nine years as full-time employees, will be out of work after Feb. 8."

That's a lie. All 20 workers in question are employed. 11 of them gained employment through the new contractor Hyatt has come to terms with (with the help of Hyatt) and the remaining 9 Hyatt helped gain employment at other hotels. Come Feb. 9th as reported on WTHR.com, none of those employees will be unemployed. You should have done some investigating before trying to make this type of accusation. Other than that, these are not Hyatt employees. Their issue is with HHS, not the hotel but since Hyatt has the money, that's who they go after. Despite the workers in question not being Hyatt employees, Hyatt still went out of their way to help them even though, their company, who actually pays them did nothing of the sort. I guess it doesn't make sense to protest the company with no money although through dubious actions and poor management are the ones actually responsible for all of this. Great job!

I DON’T GET IT!
When are unions going to realize that RIGHT AT THIS VERY MOMENT the biggest threat to union families is right here at HOME. China is a problem, but if the 1% through their mostly republican henchmen are very close to inflicting a mortal wound to all UNION members. Yes, China could take 500K jobs, but the 1% could end them all. While Unions in this state and across the country are UNDER SIEGE, the unions turn every ounce of their attention to the war on any and all unions.
What are the unions’ plans to stop the Arizona’s Head Hag from further crushing this states union? I have talk to members from different unions, and all too often the response is the State Hag is not attacking our union, so their actions don’t pertained to us. As far as I am concerned anyone that feels that way does not deserve to have a union or to be in one.
The strength of a union comes from its willingness to be in it together. Without members being willing to protect the rights of all unions, then unions will crumble. The republican plan is to divide unions from caring about each other, the same way they have pitted Americans from each other for decades. It seems that they have been successful in getting union members to think in terms of “I”.
You cannot stop them without banding together. If the powers that be are attacking one union, others have to act out to put the pressure on those powers. Unions:
1.	can unofficially have staggered sick outs,
2.	the can have sympathy strikes
3.	they can raise money for the striking union members,
4.	they can walk the picket line or protest line to support other unions
5.	they MUST mobilize to remove officials from office that are threatening theirs and their families’ well-being
6.	they MUST mobilize to initiate legislation that will stop or reverse the harm that has been done to their livelihood
7.	union members should shun those among them who support those very officials or party that would see their ability to provide for their family curtailed.

NOW Here is the BIGGY! White (I’m white) male union workers have to come to grips with the UNDENIABLE fact that a large portion of the Republican Party is out to destroy their livelihood. White male tea parties that are in unions must come to the conclusion that supporting the republican candidates will put you, your family and your friends’ livelihood in jeopardy. White male members must realize that the Koch’s of the world are out to FINANCIALLY destroy YOU and Your Family. Moreover, if you believe that a union job might be a very good living for your sons and daughters, you MUST stop supporting Republican Candidates. It is that simple.
Within the next 15 to 20 years, if the white male workers do not rise up and meet the challenges that are being brought to bear upon them by officials that would seek to destroy their lifestyle, then the unions are doomed to relative extinction. For unions to be viable into the foreseeable future the Battle Must be fought NOW, before you are tooooo small to make a difference. Once they destroy a union’s ability to organize or even collect dues, the Union and its protections are DEAD!
Stand up for your family and for unions members throughout the country and remove from office those that would end your livelihood.
Regards,
Frank Cuccia
A one-time member of the UAW, ILA, AFL-CIO
Ps. Unions in the past have often done what was right for the country and the workers that woul follow them. If gasoline prices got too high the teamster would shut down the interstates. It was not uncommon to see some unions authorize a sympathy strike, or refuse to cross picket lines. Over the past 4 decades, more & more union members became more interested in the “I” instead of their union brothers & sisters. This individualism is as much to blame for the demise of the unions as are the actions of the 1% acting through their republican hacks who are seeking to annihilate ALL American Unions.
